Can you feel it in the air?
The global war machine is raring for a fight.
The rich and powerful are downright desperate to foment a big, good, proper, old-fashioned, years-long continental war.
The media machine is a feeding frenzy right now, like tossing a cow into a pool of piranhas.
“If Israel attacks Hamas and Hezbollah for attacking Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah’s backer, Iran, will attack Israel!”
“If Israel attacks Iran, Russia will attack Israel because Russia is Iran’s backer!”
“If Russia attacks Israel, America will attack Russia, because America is Israel’s backer!”
“If America attacks Russia, China will attack America because China is Russia’s backer!”
What a snoozefest.
This routine is getting so old.
Does the establishment not even realize how lame they’ve become?
The boomer playbook is so boring and unoriginal.
Sadly, hundreds of millions of sheeple around the world take this conflict seriously.
As if it’s anything more than a chance for bank shareholders to make profits by lending money to governments so they can pay the shareholders of arms manufacturers to make weapons to kill people.
It’s almost like capitalism is all about incentives and there are powerful incentives to continuously murder human beings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here are the facts:
Iran’s “Supreme Leader,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is an Islamist fundamentalist who, by nature and nurture, hates Jews, Americans, Saudi Arabians, and all the other non-Shia-Muslim infidels who infest Allah’s planet.
To this end, he’s been using Iran’s oil money to bankroll endless misery across the Middle East:
Hezbollah in Lebanon
Hamas in Gaza
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad
The Houthis in Yemen
The Shia militias in Iraq
The Assad regime in Syria
And let’s not forget about the U.S. Embassy hostage or the brutal Iran-Iraq war with its million murders and $1 trillion price tag.
Life at home isn’t any better.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, life in Iran has been awful for normies, going from a beautiful, progressive, fashionable, wealthy nation to a miserable totalitarian Sharia regime rife with mandatory hijabs, executions, torture, oppression of women, persecution of religious minorities, high inflation, and rampant poverty.
No wonder upwards of 5 million Iranians have fled the country.
But here’s the thing:
Iranians and Israelis don’t hate each other.
There are no ancient animosities.
No territorial land disputes.
Pre-1979, Iran used to supply Israel with oil, and Israel supplied them with technical expertise.
This whole conflict is just modern anti-Jewish Islamism from a non-majority quarter.
What’s even more ironic?
2/3rds of the country doesn’t support the Ayatollah and his hate group.
61% of Iranians are Persian, not Arab Islamists.
Relax
This is not the start of World War III.
There is zero appetite among non-Islamist Iranians for war with Israel. The majority of the country would be delighted to return to the 21st century after 50 years of medieval barbarism.
Vladimir Putin doesn’t have any appetite to engage on Iran’s behalf right now, especially because he’s too busy meat-grinding Russian sons for a few feet of Ukrainian mud.
Ji Xinping doesn’t have any appetite to engage on Russia’s behalf right now, because it’s gearing up for a takeover of Taiwan. Iran has the world’s 4th-largest oil reserves and 2nd-largest gas reserves, and China buys 70% of it, so as long as they can keep buying oil from somewhere, China will live to fight another day.
Benjamin Netanyahu doesn’t want a long, drawn-out war. He wants the Islamic regime to stop trying to destroy Israel, and knows that if he doesn’t destroy the Islamic regime in Iran, it will continue to fund things like the Hamas attacks.
Donald Trump doesn’t want a long, drawn-out war, either. He likes his wars like he likes his marriages — short, productive, and over quickly.
The only people who want unending war are the Islamists — the Ayatollah’s Shia regime, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, etc, will literally never stop until Israel ceases to exist. If you need evidence, check out the big boss’s tweet from Monday:
The only other people who want war are the shareholders of the arms manufacturers who supply the U.S. and Israel with weapons.
How do I see this playing out?
The U.S, U.K., France, etc, continue to support Israel as it systematically dismantles Iran’s sharia dictatorship, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, etc. Extremist Islam is the big loser in this round.
Iran, under a moderate democracy, could rebound quickly, particularly if the West lifts sanctions. These are good, cultured, intelligent, educated people who like the taste of freedom. If they stop funding terror groups all over the Middle East, we could enjoy a solid generation of relative peace in the region.
If Iran (and Syria) plays its cards right, it could become another posh and safe Muslim nation with cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Still brutal for women, but certainly better than endless murder. B
But if Iraq and Afghanistan are any indication of what happens post-regime-fall, it could be a miserable few decades for Iranians and millions will head West. Iranians tend to integrate into Western countries than, say, Pakistanis, but many in the West are already beleaguered by endless immigration from what they view as anti-Western states, as evidenced by the rise of nationalist and populist parties and movements across Europe.
Following the destruction of the Ayatollah’s regime in Iran and network of terror buddies in the Middle East, would it be too much to hope for a great big global Muslim moderation?
Probably.
After all, Qatar and Turkey and other Arab states are still happy to bankroll mayhem-causing.
But without the Ayatollah stealing billions in Iranian money to fund millions of terrorists, it will be much harder for some groups to organize and ruin the lives of others.
Where is Khamenei right now?
Probably in a bunker near Tehran.
Trump tweeted yesterday that he knows exactly where he is and won’t kill him, at least for the moment.
But it will be hard to force him to play ball. The Ayatollah has already clapped back (on Twitter, of all places), saying he will never surrender. He’s hunkered down at least three times before, so he has some staying power.
We may not be heading into WWIII, but don’t take a global recession off the table.
After all, Iran’s most powerful weapon is its ability to close the Strait of Hormuz, which could cripple global trade and spark a global recession as fuel prices rise.
But again, China needs that sweet slick.
How long can Khamenei control the country under this level of pressure from all sides?
If the Israelis or his own people don’t assassinate him first, perhaps he’ll retire to Moscow and play bridge with Bashar al-Assad.
He’s also 86 years old, so perhaps the stress might kill him first.
In conclusion
It’s amazing how much misery one human being can cause for billions of others.
And it all comes down to bad beliefs.
If you believe, as Khamenei does, that a.) Allah is actually real, and b.) that Allah’s will is for everyone to either submit to Islam, die, or live under the pseudo-enslavement of permanent social subordination, you end up creating a world of misery for the majority of homo sapiens who think this is a bona fide terrible vision for humanity.
So, the struggle continues.
War won’t fix this.
Only the truth will set us free.
